1. About Anime Park Nijigen no MoriAbout Anime Park Nijigen no Mori
A Nature Experience-Based Anime Theme Park
Opened in 2017 at the Prefectural Awaji Island Park, Nijigen no Mori is a uniquely Japanese anime park offering innovative attractions.
Utilizing cutting-edge technology, it features fantastical attractions that create the illusion of stepping into an anime or manga, as well as attractions that brilliantly recreate the world of anime and manga. This spot on Awaji Island captivates visitors of all ages.
As of 2023, there are four permanent attractions on site: "Crayon Shin-chan Adventure Park", "NARUTO & BORUTO Shinobi Zato", "Godzilla Interception Operation Awaji", and "Dragon Quest Island" (the latter originally opened in 2021 and renewed in March 2023).
Each attraction is so immersive that experiencing them all in one day is a challenge. It is highly recommended not only for anime fans but also for those looking to enjoy active outdoor experiences.
In recent years, it has become increasingly popular with inbound visitors, thanks to its appeal even for those who do not understand the local language.
Leveraging Majestic Nature to Reproduce Awaji Island Park
Located within the expansive Hyogo Prefectural Awaji Island Park, which covers an area equivalent to 28 Tokyo Domes, Nijigen no Mori was established as a local revitalization project. Combining Japan’s manga and anime industries with the park’s natural splendor, it aims to attract new visitors through its majestic environment.
In 2013, Hyogo Prefecture’s public solicitation for private proposals at Awaji Island Park accepted the Pasona Group’s "Awaji Manga & Anime Island Project," leading to the creation of this facility. Consequently, numerous companies and municipalities have visited to study the park’s regeneration.
Visitors to Nijigen no Mori contribute directly to the revitalization of Awaji Island Park.
This anime park offers a unique experience that sets it apart from urban amusement parks or traditional theme parks.
