Nojima Scuola: A Multi-Purpose Complex in a Renovated Elementary School

Located on the west coast of Awaji Island, Nojima Scuola is a multi-purpose complex that opened in 2012 after the renovation of the former Nojima Elementary School, which had closed due to declining enrollment caused by an aging population and low birth rate.

Welcoming a large number of visitors each year and beloved by the local community, it has become a symbol of regional revitalization and one of the most popular tourist spots on Awaji Island's west coast.

The facility offers a stylish Italian restaurant, a bakery showcasing the concept of sixth-order industrialization of agriculture, and a marche filled with fresh Awaji Island vegetables — providing a wide variety of ways to enjoy your visit.

Incidentally, "Scuola" in Nojima Scuola means "elementary school" in Italian.

Usage Examples for Groups

When traveling by large bus from the mainland (Osaka, Kobe, etc.), Nojima Scuola is approximately 15 minutes from the nearest Awaji IC.

Large buses can park in the parking lot directly in front of the Nojima Scuola facility. Multiple large buses can be accommodated.

Enter through the main entrance of Nojima Scuola.

The Nojima Scuola building has 3 floors, and guests move between floors via stairs.
